Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro started from the very bottom to become one of the most visible and development conscious legislator in the country. Away from the murky world of politics, Nyoro is an astute businessman with a long list of investments.

According to filings at the Capital Markets Authority (CMA), the Kiharu MP is now the largest individual shareholder of Kenya Power Lighting Company (KPLC) with 27,291,400 shares.

“I am buying KPLC shares because I know we can fix issues of electricity when allowed to make decisions. It has alot of sleeping capital which can be used to assist more homes,” Ndindi told Weekend Business.

The company is valued at Ksh2.8 billion and the legislators reckons that it is a very attractive investment as the company has revenues of over Ksh120 billion and assets of over Sh320 billion.

“Meaning that the company is valued at less than one percent of its assets value”, Ndindi shared.

His 1.4 per cent stake translates at around Sh43.7 million.
