Those who attended were entertained by various artists from Taita Taveta at the Event
Day 1 of the Kenya Music and Cultural Festival, Taita Taveta County has ended well with more representation from marginalized groups of women, youths, and People with Disabilities PWDs.
During the festivities in Voi Director Youths, Sports, Culture, Gender, and Social Services Wallace Mwaluma stated that this is a platform to showcase talents from the underrepresented in a national and regional arena.
“ Performances from choirs, traditional dances, folk songs, live bands, brass bands, and poems have also enabled access to information as artists have presented on topical issues like drug abuse and the COVID-19 pandemic, “ he said.
Department County Chief Officer CCO Isaac Makange said that this event sponsored by the County Government of Taita Taveta is also a platform to strengthen cultural identity.
With over 350 participants drawn towards this festival, H.E. Governor Andrew Mwadime will close the show tomorrow and give prizes to those who will win in the different categories.
